5G rolled out in Brunei


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network):The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, together with Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd, Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd, Imagine Sdn Bhd and Progresif Sdn Bhd, on Thursday announced the availability of 5G services in Brunei, starting June 22, 2023.

The existence of a 5G network is a milestone in the development of the technological landscape for Brunei Darussalam.

From the establishment of a national 5G Taskforce to the initiation of the 5G Pilot Project, where Proof of Concepts was conducted at several strategic locations, to the partnerships established among the local telecommunication companies with strong industry players to provide the best service for their subscribers, the telecommunications sector have made extensive preparations to ready the nation for 5G.
