BANGKOK, Sept 27 (Reuters): Asian emerging currencies steadied on Tuesday as the dollar took a breather after notching a 20-year high, while Philippines shares tumbled following the International Monetary Fund's warning about the country's economic growth.
India's rupee and South Korea's won firmed 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively, while the Thai baht rose 0.2%. Investors' appetite for risk-sensitive Asian assets got a boost as the U.S. dollar index fell 0.5% to 113.35, pulling back from a two-decade peak of 114.58 on Monday.
