Japan PM to address nation on shooting of former PM Shinzo Abe

TOKYO (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is scheduled to address the nation at 2.30pm (1.30pm Singapore time) on Friday (July 8), on the shocking shooting of former prime minister Shinzo Abe.

Kyodo news agency and NHK said that Abe appeared to be in a state of "cardiorespiratory arrest" when taken to hospital, after having initially been conscious and responsive, according to Reuters.
