PHNOM PENH, May 29 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): EU-Asean Business Council executive director Chris Humphrey has praised the Cambodian government for its effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic, which he credited for the full resumption of social life in the Kingdom, according to the health ministry.

Humphrey also thanked the government for vaccinating foreign residents, including investors and businesspeople, speaking at a meeting with Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng at the ministry.

“The executive director also thanked the Ministry of Health for its support and cooperation with European businesses, especially on the registration of health products.

"He also requested that the ministry continue to support and more broadly strengthen cooperation in the health sector,” said a ministry press statement about the meeting.

Bun Heng voiced appreciation for the Singaporean-based business council and Asia-Europe Foundation, the latter of which collaborates with the health ministry in organising the Asia-Europe Forum on combatting counterfeit medical products and those of inferior quality.

He said “more than 4,000 types” of medical products from European countries have been registered with the ministry and are on sale in Cambodia.

The minister thanked the council and asked it to step up cooperation with the ministry and promote EU-Aseanpartnerships, especially those concerning human resources, the statement added. - Phnom Penh Post/ANN
