Myanmar reports only 17 new Covid-19 cases on Friday night (May 20)


YANGON, May 20 (Xinhua): The number of Covid-19 cases in Myanmar rose to 613,203 after 17 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health's official data showed on Friday night.

The ministry's health authorities tested 8,794 people for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, and the daily positivity rate was 0.19 percent, it said.

According to official data, the death toll from Covid-19 in the country stood at 19,434 as no new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.

As of Friday, the total number of patients who recovered from Covid-19 in the country has reached 592,166 after seven more patients newly recovered in the past 24 hours, official data showed.
