Brunei appoints new Royal Brunei Armed Forces commander

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah presented the rank insignia of Major General to Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Muhammad Haszaimi Bol Hassan; and appointed him the 12th Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at Istana Nurul Iman on Tuesday (March 1).

His Royal Highness Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) was also in attendance.

The event was also attended by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Halbi Mohd Yussof and RBAF former commander Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hamzah Sahat.

Major General Muhammad Haszaimi previously held several key posts including the 11th Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) from July 30, 2020 to Feb 28, 2022; Commandant of Defence Academy RBAF from 2019 to 2020; Commandant of Training Institute RBAF in 2018 and RBLF Deputy Commander from 2014 to 2017.
