Cambodia's banking industry sees strong growth last year despite pandemic


PHNOM PENH, Jan 16 (Xinhua): Cambodia's banking industry had seen robust growth in loans and deposits in 2021 despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a report of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) on Sunday.

Outstanding loans rose by 21.2 percent year-on-year to US$45.7 billion last year, while customers' deposits surged by 15.4 percent to US$38.5 billion, the report said.
