Fifth shipment of Covid-19 vaccine arrives from China


The fifth batch of China-donated Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine carried by the Chinese YTO Airlines cargo plane arrived at the Lao capital Vientiane late on Saturday. Lao Health Minister Bounfeng Phoummalaysith and Economic and Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Laos Zhao Wenyu received the donation at the airport. - Xinhua

VIENTIANE, Aug 8 (Vientiane Times/ANN): The Chinese government has provided another 1 million doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine and medical equipment including syringes to bolster Laos’ efforts to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

The vaccine will be sufficient to immunise another 500,000 people against the virus.
