HK firm has rare win in row over US sanctions


HONG KONG (China Daily/ANN): Hong Kong-based textile and apparel giant Esquel Group may get a subsidiary removed from a US blacklist after a rare victory in litigation against the US government.

In an email reply to China Daily's query, Esquel Group confirmed that the End-User Review Committee of US Department of Commerce on July 31 reached a decision to remove the company’s subsidiary ChangjiEsquel from the entity list and decided to approve the removal subject to certain conditions.
