Indonesia foils smuggling of 90kg marijuana to capital Jakarta as surging Covid-19 cases total goes above 1.43 million

JAKARTA, March 16 (Xinhua): An Indonesian joint team of the army and the police has thwarted a plot to smuggle 90 kilogrammess of narcotics in the form of marijuana to the country's capital Jakarta, a police officer said.

"The smuggling was foiled when the contrabands were going to be delivered from Aceh province's capital city of Banda Aceh to Jakarta on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021," chief of the Banda Aceh city police senior commissioner Joko Krisdiyanto told a press conference on Tuesday.
