A help for all Muslims in this region: SmartWills Wasiatku launches and confirms a strategic partnership with Palladium Trustee

SmartWills has officially launched SmartWills Wasiatku, a digital Islamic estate planning platform designed to make estate planning more accessible, convenient, and easier to understand for Malaysians. Muslims in surrounding countries with assets in Malaysia can also use the company's services.

Developed through its subsidiary, Wasiatku Fintech Sdn Bhd, SmartWills Wasiatku brings together Wasiat, Hibah and Faraid-related services within a more connected estate planning journey.

In conjunction with the launch, SmartWills Wasiatku and Palladium Trustee signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s Islamic estate planning and administration ecosystem through a combination of digital technology and professional trustee expertise. The MOU signing ceremony was held at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

SmartWills Wasiatku offers three key solutions: Wasiatku Plan — Available through Wasiatku Asas, which structures estate distribution according to applicable Faraid principles, and Wasiatku Lanjutan, which also allows up to one-third (1/3) of the estate to be allocated to eligible non-Faraid beneficiaries and purposes, subject to applicable Islamic principles and requirements.

For non-Malaysians with assets in Malaysia, the Wasiatku PLUS Series provides an additional planning option for Malaysian-based assets.

SmartHibah Plan — Comprises SmartHibah Direct for one specific asset and SmartHibah Care for up to three assets, allowing individuals to select a solution according to their asset profile and planning needs.

SmartFaraid — An online service that enables beneficiaries to initiate Faraid applications with the relevant local Shariah Court. Professional assistance is also available through SmartWills Wasiatku’s panel of Shariah lawyers.

Under the strategic partnership, Palladium Trustee will become the sole trustee company for SmartWills Wasiatku in carrying out agreed functions relating to the management and protection of Muslim clients’ estates in Malaysia.

Palladium Trustee's roles include acting as Executor or Administrator of Estate, Trustee and Custodian, subject to the terms and scope of services agreed between both parties.

The partnership combines SmartWills Wasiatku’s digital platform and estate planning solutions with Palladium Trustee's professional expertise in Islamic estate planning, trusteeship and estate administration.

This creates greater continuity across the estate planning journey — from planning and documentation during a client’s lifetime to the eventual administration and distribution of the estate.

The event also witnessed SmartWills Wasiatku formalising collaborations with its Legal Advisor and Panel of Shariah Lawyers representing every state in Malaysia, further strengthening the professional support available within its Islamic estate planning ecosystem.

Encik Norazmi Samsuri, Strategic Director of SmartWills Wasiatku, said the partnership represents an important step towards providing a more comprehensive Islamic estate planning solution.

“This partnership allows SmartWills Wasiatku to offer a more comprehensive solution to users. It is not just about providing technological convenience, but is also backed by professional expertise in the execution of wills, trusts, estate administration and document safekeeping.”

Julia Mustaffa, Managing Director of Palladium Trustee, said the collaboration would combine the accessibility of digital technology with professional trustee and estate administration expertise.

“Through this partnership with SmartWills Wasiatku, we can combine Palladium Trustee Berhad’s experience and expertise in Islamic trusteeship and estate administration with the convenience of digital technology, making Islamic estate planning more accessible to the public.”

Both parties believe the collaboration will encourage more Malaysians to plan their estates earlier and ensure that their wishes and estate matters can eventually be implemented and administered in a more structured and organised manner.

SmartWills Wasiatku also welcomes Takaful agents and Shariah financial planners to collaborate with the platform in bringing Wasiat, Hibah and Faraid

solutions to more Malaysians. By connecting digital technology, professional estate planning, Shariah legal expertise, and trustee services, SmartWills Wasiatku aims to build a more integrated
