Downpour causes flash floods in Klang

SHAH ALAM: Continuous downpour since last night has caused flash floods in two areas in Klang, according to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department on Friday. 

Assistant director (Operation) Mohd Sani Harul said as of 11 am, the situation was under control with no evacuations.

Among the affected areas were Jalan Datuk Abdul Hamid, Taman Sentosa, Kampung Budiman, Persiaran Hamzah Alang, Batu 5, Jalan Meru and Jalan Paip in Meru.

"In Taman Sentosa, 15 houses were inundated by flood waters, but the situation is still under control and no victims were evacuated so far," he told Bernama.

In Meru, Mohd Sani said 12 houses were flooded and the Social Welfare Department had opened a relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Binjai as part of precautionary measures. - Bernama
