Continued disruption of KTM southern intercity services

KUALA LUMPUR: There is continued disruption in KTM Intercity services in the southern sector due to a goods train derailment between Layang-Layang and Renggam on Friday.

In a statement Saturday, KTM Bhd (KTMB) said repair works were currently being carried out on several wagons that had skidded and were due for completion by 3pm Sunday.

The incident occurred at the 692.25km stretch and involved 14 wagons of the train that was travelling from Kempas Baharu to Padang Rengas.

KTMB has reported that train services which were still affected were Train No: 1 - Ekspres Rakyat (Kuala Lumpur Sentral-Woodlands); Train No: 2 - Ekspres Rakyat (Woodlands-Kuala Lumpur Sentral); Train No: 12 - Ekspres Sinaran Selatan (Woodlands-Kuala Lumpur Sentral) and Train No: 13 - Ekspres Sinaran Selatan (Kuala Lumpur Sentral-Woodlands).

Train No: 14 - Ekspres Sinaran Timur (Woodlands-Tumpat); Train No: 15 - Ekspres Sinaran Timur (Tumpat-Woodlands); Train No: 18 - Malayan Tiger Train (JB Sentral-Tumpat); Train No: 24 - Ekspres Senandung Sutera (Woodlands-Kuala Lumpur Sentral); Train No: 25 - Ekspres Senandung Sutera (Kuala Lumpur Sentral-Woodlands); Train No: 26 - Ekspres Senandung Timuran (Woodlands-Tumpat); Train No: 27 - Ekspres Senandung Timuran (Tumpat-Woodlands).

Shuttle Train No: 61 - (Gemas-Woodlands); Shuttle Train No: 64 - (Woodlands-Gemas); Shuttle Train No: 91 - (Kuala Lipis-Woodlands); and Shuttle Train No: 92 - (Woodlands-Kuala Lipis).

The statement said passengers could opt for a full refund or reschedule their travel date.
