IGP and ex-MB head FT honours list


PUTRAJAYA: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar heads the list of recipients of awards and medals in conjunction with Federal Territories Day.

He has been conferred the Darjah Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah, which carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.

Another recipient of the award is former Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abu Hassan Omar.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah will confer the awards at Istana Melawati here today.

Five people have been conferred the Darjah Seri Mahkota Wilayah, which carries the title Datuk Seri.

They are Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and MIC president Datuk G. Palanivel; MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong; Housing and Local Government Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ahmad Kabit; KUB Malaysia Bhd chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Samad; and Malaysian Association for the Blind deputy president Datuk Mohamed Iqbal Kuppapitchai Rawther.

Thirty-four people were conferred the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah, which carries the title Datuk.

Among them are Kumpulan Media Karangkraf editor-in-chief Abdul Jalil Ali; Media Prima Group managing editor Shaharudin Abdul Latif; and former sprint queen Marina Chin.

Others include Putrajaya MCA chief Koo Chin Nam; IPF president M. Sambanthan; Federal Territory Umno Youth chief Rizalman Mokhtar; Gerakan Youth chief Lim Si Pin; Labuan Wanita Umno chief Aini Safar; MIC Setiawangsa branch chief R. Malaiapan and Kimma treasurer-general Abdul Wahith Sharfuddin.

Thirty people have been conferred the Johan Mahkota Wilayah award while the Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah medals will be given to 50 people, 74 the Ahli Mahkota Wilayah and 84 the Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah.

The others conferred the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah Award recipients are:
