PETALING JAYA: Malaysia wrapped up their 2018 World Cup football qualifying campaign by losing 2-0 to Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium. Mohd Al Sah­lawi (50th minute) and Taiseer Al Jassam (74th minute) scored for the Saudis in Thurs­day’s Group A match in Jeddah.

With the loss, Malaysia remain fourth in the five-team group with four points from a win, a draw and six defeats.
