Solution for taxi problems

ON Jan 29, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi disclosed that the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) was in the midst of discussions to regulate ride-hailing apps by, among others, making it mandatory for Uber and GrabCar vehicles to undergo periodic inspections at Puspakom and for them to have commercial insurance that may allow them to operate legally.

A few days ago, he announced that the Government would introduce a “mini taxi” service in big cities, especially Kuala Lumpur, to offer cheaper rates for customers. He also said SPAD was currently drafting a plan to ensure the success of this initiative.
