Decomposing body found in Ipoh lake


IPOH: The decomposing body of a man was found in a lake in Tasek Tiara Lake View Plaza, near Lahat here, on Wednesday (Oct 21).

Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said they received information about the discovery at about 5.40pm from a passerby who saw the body floating by the bank.

"Checks around the area did not reveal any signs of a struggle or suspicious objects. Further checks did not reveal any abandoned or suspicious vehicles in the area as well,” he said.

He added that authorities estimated that the victim had been dead for over a day.

No external wounds or identification documents were found on the body.

The case has been classified as a sudden death while awaiting autopsy results from Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital. – Bernama
