Pribumi won't call youth wing Armada pending RoS approval

PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia will not call its youth wing "Armada" until it gets approval from the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

Pribumi secretary-general Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh (pic) said that the party would use the name as stated in its constitution for the time being.

“We have given instructions to the leadership and members of the party to use the name Pemuda PPBM until an amendment to the constitution is approved by the RoS,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Nov 16).

He said Pribumi had approved a name change while amending its constitution during an extraordinary general meeting last November, but that the RoS had yet to approve these changes.

He also said the party had made an application to the RoS so that the Annual General Meeting is postponed to next year.

The RoS had questioned Shahruddin for three hours over claims of “constitutional issues” in the party on Tuesday (Nov 14).

The party is scheduled to meet the RoS again on Nov 30.
