Perak Sultan: Healthcare systems needs to evolve


PETALING JAYA: Primary healthcare systems in Malaysia and across the region need to evolve to effectively respond to the growing epidemic of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), said Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Citing the World Health Organisation, Sultan Nazrin said South-East Asia now has the fastest rising rates of NCDs in the world including heart disease, diabetes, respiratory illnesses and cancers.
