Worker dies after lightning strike in Sepang


SEPANG: A 45-year-old worker was killed when she was struck by lightning near the Department of Civil Aviation tower here on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Sepang OCPD, Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali, the deceased - an Indonesian national only known as Pariah - died at the scene.

"We received a call at around 1pm from a project manager with the landscaping company she was attached to about the incident," he said.

ACP Abdul Aziz said Pariah was with a co-worker when the tragedy struck, adding that her body has been brought to Hospital Serdang for a post-mortem.

Weather reports showed that there were thunderstorms in some areas of Sepang on Tuesday afternoon.
