Costs get unbe-leaf-able

Writing’s on the wall: The price of banana leaf rice meals is expected to go up next month, in tandem with the rising costs of raw materials and the subsequent lower profits that restaurant owners are currently experiencing.

PETALING JAYA: The increase in the price of vegetables, meat, poultry and other fresh produce should result in more expensive banana leaf meals from next month.

But the Malaysian Indian Restaurant Owners Association (Primas) has requested its members absorb the losses and defer the price increase.
