Interview with . . . Datuk Seri Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar

Interview with Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar. IZZRAFIQ ALIAS /The Star. February 2, 2017.

OUR coast guard, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), is celebrating its 12th anniversary. Formed to combat piracy and keeping the waters of Malaysia safe, the MMEA has become a soaring success in just over a decade, despite its humble beginnings. In the past couple of years, the agency has seen virtually zero piracy in Malaysian waters and has won several international maritime awards for its efforts.

Sunday Star recently sat down with MMEA director-general, 61-year-old Maritime Admiral Datuk Seri Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar – who joined the MMEA in 2005 before being taking over the helm from Maritime Admiral Datuk Mohd Amdan Kurish in 2015 – for a chat on the agency and the safety of our waters.
