Ex-top GLC officer charged with CBT

KUALA LUMPUR: A former chief executive officer of a government-linked company (GLC) was charged in a Sessions Court here with five counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) totalling RM2.575mil.

Datuk Nor Badli Munawir Mohamad Alias Lafti pleaded not guilty to using his position in TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE), which is an associate company of Tabung Haji to commit CBT about four years ago through five cheques worth RM400,000, RM570,000, RM430,000, RM600,000 and RM575,800. According to the annual report, Tabung Haji is the single largest shareholder of THHE with 29.8% stake.
