‘Aussies bought their Malaysian flag briefs back home’


The men, believed to be Australians, were reported to have disrobed and revealed their briefs to spectators at the Formula 1 Petronas Grand Prix.

SEPANG: The group of foreigners arrested for public indecency at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) purchased their Jalur Gemilang underwear in Australia.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali added that the nine Australians, aged between 25 and 29, were under the influence of alcohol when they disrobed and revealed their briefs to spectators at the Formula 1 Petronas Grand Prix on Sunday.

“They were under the influence of alcohol.

“Investigations revealed that they bought the undies Down Under,” he told The Star.

ACP Abdul Aziz said the group were detained at 5pm on the same day shortly after the incident.

They are being remanded for four days to facilitate investigations.

The case is being probed for provocation and public indecency.
