Dog alerts owner to dumped baby

Shocking find: The abandoned baby boy boy found in Jinjang Selatan.

KUALA LUMPUR: A dog led its owner to a newborn abandoned in a drain in Jinjang Selatan near here.

The baby boy, with the umbilical cord still intact, was found at about 11am yesterday by the 16-year-old student who lives nearby.

After letting his dog out of the house compound, he noticed that it kept barking at something.

“It led him to the baby who was crying in a box,” said Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy.

The student alerted the police.

The baby has been sent to Selayang Hospital.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the nearest police station or call 03 4040-0781/782, said ACP Munusamy.
