Tour bus crashes down Genting leaving driver dead, 15 injured


GENTING HIGHLANDS: A tour bus carrying 27 people skidded and landed on its side during its descent down Genting Highlands, killing one and injuring 15 others.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the incident happened around 7pm on Wednesday at the foot of the highlands near the police checkpoint. 

The bus driver, a Perak native in his 50s, lost control of the vehicle and was crushed to death at the scene.

All 15 injured were Chinese nationals, three of whom were in critical condition.

A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department told the Daily that they received an emergency call around 7.19pm and a team was dispatched there immediately.

He said all 15 victims were sent to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for treatment.

Those who were not injured were sent back to their hotels.
