A 36-YEAR-OLD woman climbed down a three-metre monsoon drain with a ladder to save three puppies in Kajang, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Pictures of the woman carrying the puppies were widely circulated by several animal lovers’ groups on Facebook.
The brave act of the woman, identified as Chen Pei Zhen, was applauded by netizens.
In her response, Chen took things in stride, saying: “I just rescued three puppies, no need for such a big hoo-haa.”
Chen, from Johor Baru, came to know about the stranded puppies via Facebook while visiting her mother-in-law in Kajang on Sunday.
She immediately drove to the site and asked for a ladder from residents nearby.
“After bringing the puppies out, I cleaned them at a house nearby before sending them to an animal shelter,” she was quoted as saying by the daily.
Chen said a resident advised her not to go down the drain for safety reasons, but she ignored it.
> China Press reported that a six-year-old claimed she was molested by a man in a car in Johor Baru.
