Sarawak polls: Four-term Senadin rep shows report card

Lee showing his report card for public scrutiny

MIRI: Incumbent assemblyman and SUPP candidate for Senadin Datuk Lee Kim Shin is the first to table his report card for public scrutiny.

Having accomplished 101 important projects over the past five years, he has every reason to be proud of his solid track record of serving the people in his constituency and throughout Miri district.

Lee, a four-term assemblyman and SUPP vice-president, unveiled his report card on Tuesday and his office will be distributing it in all the important languages for the people to see.

"I want to display my report card for all to see so that the rakyat can judge me based on the things I have done for them.

"They will be able to look at the report card and then look at the ground situation in my constituency and in Miri.

"From the comparison, they can judge whether I have accomplished my duties as wakil rakyat or not.

"My report card describes in detail the actual projects and accomplishments over the past five years.

"The results can be seen on the ground. They are not in the form of words or promises," Lee said.

In his report card, Lee listed out in detail and with pictures the many projects he has carried out for Senadin and Miri City.

The projects involved the socio-economic sectors like education, health and medical services, public welfare, drainage and irrigation and flood-control, homes for the hardcore poor, assistance for religious organisations.

Lee said his constituency has a population of about 200,000 and is a hub for higher education, ship-building and downstream timber and manufacturing industries.

He said he would leave to the voters to decide if they would return him again in the seat he successfully defended since 1996.

He will be challenged by DAP's Dr Bob Baru and independent candidate Philemon John Edan.

Philemon is from Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak Baru, a new party formed by former leaders of the deregistered PBDS.
