Missing medical officer found dead in toilet at Alor Gajah hospital

MALACCA: A 29-year-old medical officer was found dead inside a toilet cubicle at the Alor Gajah public hospital here.

The male doctor was still seated on the toilet when hospital staff broke open the door at about 9am, yesterday after he failed to answer dozens of phone calls made by his superiors.

Alor Gajah OCPD Superintendent Mohamad Laham said the toilet door was locked and had to be forced open, only for staff to find the medical officer was dead.

He said the medical officer was on duty and last seen at the hospital vicinity by other staff at about 7am.

Supt Mohamad said the medical officer’s failure to answer the calls prompted the hospital staff to search for him.

They then decided to check the locked toilet to see whether the doctor was inside and made their shocking discovery.

Supt Mohamad added police as classified it under “sudden death report’’ until the outcome of post-mortem report.
