Kington Loo dies at age 73


PETALING JAYA: Renowned Malaysian architect and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Malaysia founding member Datuk Kington Loo passed away yesterday from a heart attack. 

Loo: Survived by his wife Janet and four children.

Loo, 73, was at KL Sentral station on his way to KLIA to catch a flight to Penang when he suffered the attack.  

He died in an ambulance on the way to hospital. 

Loo was a pioneer architect in Malaysia responsible for designing, among others, Dewan Tunku Cancellor in Universiti Malaya, Subang International Airport, Standard Chartered Bank building in Kuala Lumpur and many of the early high-rise buildings in the country. 

He is survived by his wife Janet and four children. 

His funeral has been scheduled for next week.
