A Form One student of a tahfiz school in Shah Alam sustained injuries to his ribs and wrist after he was allegedly hit by the school warden. The incident is alleged to have taken place on May 10 at 5pm when the victim was called in to see the warden, who is also an ustaz. The teenager was reportedly beaten with a cane and punched until his ribs hurt after he refused to answer personal questions. The student then called his father and was taken to the nearest clinic for treatment before a police report was lodged the next day. The father, whose name was not revealed, said his son recently transferred to the school. He further claimed that his son was previously punished by the same individual for being late to school. It is understood that the warden has made an apology and offered to pay for medical costs. However, this was rejected by the victim's father. Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Shafien Mamat confirmed the case and said it is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal for voluntarily causing hurt.
