Man killed by steel rod in freak accident


A 26-year-old man died after a steel rod fell off from a lorry and pierced his head in a freak accident at KM57 on Jalan Gua Musang-Lojing. In the 1.15pm accident Sunday, Mohamad Ameerul Asyraf Abdul Aziz died on the spot while his father, who was seated on the front passenger seat, escaped unhurt. It was reported that the duo were travelling from Ipoh, Perak to Gua Musang. District police chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said police are looking for the driver of the lorry, who has yet to lodge a report. The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Road Transport Act.
