A Malaysian student died after he was hit by a London Underground train at Marble Arch station Tuesday. The deceased, Muhamad Aaron Maseri, 22, was reportedly on his way home during rush hour when the accident happened. According to The Evening Standard, the victim was believed to be still alive after he was hit but was later pronounced dead by paramedics. Several train lines temporarily halted operations while the police and fire and rescue service personnel investigated the scene. The case has reportedly been classified as an accident. Muhamad Aaron's parents, who are currently in London for his brother's convocation, were informed of his death. His remains are expected to return to Malaysia Thursday.
Siti Nuraisyah Sahrin, who lost both legs in a road accident on Jan 18, has showed improvement and is reportedly able to sit up with assistance. Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah medical officer Dr Edmund Das said the 13-year-old girl can make some movement with her remaining limbs now. Her left leg had to be amputated above the ankle while her right leg was amputated below the knee after a lorry crushed her legs. "She is underdoing physiotherapy and her wounds are closely monitored," said Dr Edmund. Siti Nuraisyah was on her way home from SMK Bagan Terap in Sabak Bernam on a motorcycle with her stepsister Shamim Amira Roslan, 14, when the accident happened.
