A female reporter of Dutch news channel EenVandaag has apologised for going through the personal items of MH17 victims. Caroline van den Heuvel was criticised after she was seen reading a diary belonging to one of the passengers in a news broadcast on Monday. The editorial board published the apology on its website, stating that Heuvel's action went too far but her intention was to "describe the chaos as accurately as possible."

While Terengganu has announced this Sunday as a public holiday for the Hari Raya celebration, it will be a normal working day in both Kelantan and Johor. Kelantan Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the decision was made after taking into consideration various viewpoints and public interest. If Sunday is made a holiday, the five-day holiday stretch from Friday to Tuesday would be too long, he explained.

Three suspects were arrested in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, for stealing and hiding cattle at the back of their cars. The suspects, aged between 16 and 29, had anaesthesised the animals, tied them up and stuffed them in the passenger seats and trunks of two Proton Wira cars. All three tested positive for drugs and were arrested under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Section 29(1) Minor Offences Act 1955, and Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

A young boy’ parents have been heavily criticised for letting him empty his bowels on his seat on board a Delta Air Lines flight from Beijing to Detroit a few days ago. The parents, who ignored advice from the stewardess and nearby passengers, placed newspapers on the boy's seat and let him defecate. This created a furore among passengers as the stench filled the entire cabin. Chinese netizens condemned the family on their micro-blogging website Weibo, after news of the incident went viral.

A man from Bandar Sri Permaisuri in Cheras hit his wife after she forbade him from taking another wife. The woman was said to be preparing their buka puasa meal at about 5.30pm Sunday in their home when the husband asked her if he could take another wife. A squabble ensued between the couple before he hit her.
