Giving local fishermen a push into agribusiness as alternative income


THE Melaka Government will help local fishermen to venture into agribusiness in lieu of their lost livelihood affected by marine reclamation work along the state’s littoral zone and erratic weather patterns.

State Agriculture, Entrepreneur Development and Agro-based Committee chairman Norhizam Hassan Baktee said the alternative sources of income could be yielded through cultivating cockles and shrimps using cage-farming methods.
