The awards included two viaduct work packages and two systems work packages. They were awarded following a one-stop procurement committee meeting (OSPC) chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

MRT Corp Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said with the latest work packages awarded, development of the SSP Line would be able to move full steam ahead.

For the RM1.47bil elevated work packages, work package V203 to build the 4.6km viaduct guideway from Jinjang to Jalan Ipoh North Portal was awarded to IJM Construction Sdn Bhd.

MRCB won the RM648mil contract for Work Package V210 to build the 2.6km viaduct guideway and other associated works from Persiaran APEC in Cyberjaya to Putrajaya Sentral.

“The basis of selecting successful tenderers for MRT Project work packages was the Best Evaluated Tender, where both technical and commercial aspects of tenders were evaluated. As a result, the successful tender might not be the one with the lowest price,”  Shahril said.

“I am pleased to share that the successful tenderers for the Electric Trains, Viaduct V203 and Viaduct V210 had also submitted the lowest prices for their respective tenders,” he said.
