PETALING JAYA: Children who are exposed to sexual abuse at an older age find it harder to recover as they are more aware of what is happening to them.
Hospital Penang consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist Lai Fong Hwa said the effect of the abuse was highly dependant on the age of the victim, as “younger victims often do not realise what is happening”.
