Shahidan: Vast majority of official refugees and asylum seekers are from Myanmar

KUALA LUMPUR: There are more than 140,000 asylum seekers and refugees from Myanmar living in the country temporarily under United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said there is total of 151,770 refugees from all countries, of which 53,116 were asylum seekers.
