BUTTERWORTH: Police are looking for a Myanmar national said to be behind the murder of his countryman in Taman Chai Leng here.
Police believed the man, in his 30s, could shed light on the murder of Dunai, also in his 30s.
On Saturday, Dunai’s body was found among some bushes about 800m away from a double-storey shoplot where he was staying.
Both men were said to be workers at a pastry shop.
It is learnt that Dunai could have been killed in the shoplot before his body was dumped in the bushes.
The shoplot owner had found bloodstains on a mattress which was covered with a blanket on the first floor of the unit.
According to police, an eyewitness claimed that there was a fight between two men on the first floor of the shoplot at about 2am on Saturday.
The eyewitness alleged that he saw one of them hitting the other man several times from the window of his house.
He claimed the attacker then used a rope to strangle the victim from behind.
Penang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mazlan Kesah said CCTV footage obtained from the shoplot showed Dunai being carried down from the upper floor.
