Kiki fined RM5,000 for causing mischief and damage

KUANTAN: A woman, who gained notoriety after she was filmed hammering an elderly man's vehicle with a steering lock, was fined RM5,000 or in default three months' jail.

The Sessions Court also ordered Siti Fairrah Ashykin Kamaruddin (pic), 30, better known as Kiki, to do 240 hours of community work.

In delivering sentencing, Session judge Zainal Abidin Kamarudin reminded the accused to uphold her good name as she was a lady and well-educated.

Zainal Abidin said the accused was very lucky that the victim Sim Siak Hong was a good man and did not wish to pursue the matter.

The accused, who broke down during mitigation, had earlier pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both.

She was said to have committed the offence at the parking lot of UTC, Jalan Sekilau in Kuantan on July 14 at about 1.10pm.

Siti Fairrah was recorded spewing verbal abuses and hammering the vehicle belonging to Sim, 68, with his steering lock.

The incident was triggered after Sim accidentally hit her brand new Peugeot.

A video of the incident, which was uploaded onto Youtube, instantly went viral, resulting in the public condemning her aggressive acts.
