TELUK INTAN: It is just not worth it for neighbours to become enemies due to politics.
Therefore, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has called on campaigners in the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat by-election not to turn the locals against each other.
“When it is over, most of us (the outstation campaigners) will leave Teluk Intan and return to our daily lives.
“Do not cause friction among the locals,” he said after a gotong-royong at the Kampung Padang Tembak mosque here yesterday.
“There should be limits in politics,” he added.
Hishammuddin said people should not let their emotions take over during the by-election.
“Just like all elections and the Bersih demonstrations, our country can still remain peaceful after all this,” he said.
He also called on folks to separate facts from hearsay “especially on social media”.
