In a fit of jealousy, an Indonesian man took a bottle of acid and rode a bus from Negri Sembilan to Pahang to force his lover to drink the hazardous liquid. The suspect was reportedly angry after hearing that the victim was a promiscuous woman and had changed partners every night. During the attack, the victim managed to push the suspect's hand away, which led to the acid splashing and spilling onto her face and body. The suspect was also hurt in the incident, suffering burns on his stomach, legs and hands. He fled but was caught by police at a bus station the following day. The man was brought to a police station in Kuala Lipis while the victim was being treated at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh.

The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) is probing a viral photo showing a group of man making fun of the Muslim ritual prayer (solat). The photo showed six men in their prayer positions and three of them were topless. One of them was speaking on a handphone while another was holding a cigarette. Jakim director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha said it was an insult to Islam. However, he said they could be forgiven if they were found to have recently embraced Islam and were not aware of the dos and don'ts of performing a prayer.
