KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI closed convincingly above the 1,800 level on Monday, extending its gains from Friday, underpinned by solid gains in banks and heavyweight SapuraKencana Petroleum.
At 5pm, the KLCI was up 14.83 points or 0.83% to 1,803.14, supported by local funds after the heavy selling from foreign funds in recent weeks. Turnover was 2.05 billion shares valued at RM2.21bil. Gainers led losers 569 to 305 while 261 counters were unchanged.
