Hostages talk of ordeal in jungle

Day in, day out for almost eight months, the four half-starved and exhausted Borneo Paradise hostages slept under the open sky on the cold and wet ground and were bitten by leeches and mosquitoes. Arsyad Sagoni, 59, Indonesians Amir Nanggi, 50, and Suwito Tujimon, 23, and Filipino Azarah Sariban, 42, yesterday gave a glimpse of life as hostages of the Abu Sayyaf terror group for 213 days in the mountainous jungles of Tawi-Tawi island since their abduction from the resort near Lahad Datu on Oct 5 last year.
