Enough teachers to go ahead with DLP

I REFER to the report “Don’t let emotions get in the way of DLP” (Sunday Star, Nov 8) and the school principal’s lamentations on the cover of your Nov 7 edition.

As a principal, I empathise with Nor Azian Abd Manan’s disappointment and sadness about her students’ inability to speak in English. She feels sad because she knows that when they eventually finish school, they will inevitably and invariably face frustrations and hardships in the employment market especially in the private sector, which requires a minimum working knowledge of English.
