SACRAMENTO, the United States, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Rising ocean levels are threatening California's coastline, where 70 percent of residents live and millions more visit each year, and the impacts will worsen in the next 30 years, a new study warned.
Sea levels are predicted to rise an average of 0.8 feet, 0.24 meters, by 2050 compared to the year 2000, and the figure could go up by 6.1 feet, or 1.86 meters, by 2150, according to the report released last week by the California Ocean Protection Council.
