HONG KONG actress Elaine Yiu (pic, below) revealed that she had dated a Malaysian before while studying in Australia, China Press reported.

She said during a talk show hosted by fellow actors Yoyo Chen, Winki Lai, Lai Lok-yi and Owen Cheung that she had tried a long-distance relationship.

“I was studying in Australia, and my boyfriend was Malaysian. After we finished our studies, I returned to Hong Kong and he went back to Malaysia.

“So we eventually broke up. Although I was studying communication, I wasn’t very good at communicating,” she said during the talk show.

She, however, did not reveal the identity of her former boyfriend.

The talk show was first aired on April 25 this year and among the invited guests so far included Benjamin Yuen, Tyson Yoshi, John Chiang and Shiga Lin.

> Hong Kong singer and actress Sammi Cheng suffered an inflamed throat after testing positive for Covid-19 last year.

China Press reported that the incident also forced her to postpone her initial concert which was scheduled to be held last July last year to this coming July in Hong Kong.

During a radio programme to promote her new song Face Your Demons, Cheng said she had trouble breathing after testing positive for Covid-19 last year.

“I felt like I couldn’t breathe all day, so I went to the hospital for a detailed examination.

“My throat and trachea were found to be severely inflamed,” she said.

She felt that she only regained her strength last December and shared: “I can finally handle work.”

Cheng also revealed that she has turned down many jobs to focus entirely on preparing for the upcoming concert in July.
