TANJUNG MALIM: Dr Amir Hamzah is making full use of every second of his time to woo voters.
Since nomination, the 50-year-old candidate for the parliamentary seat here has gone full swing in his campaign.
He went from door-to-door to introduce himself to the people.
"I only sleep four hours a day, yes it is hectic and tiring but I enjoy it,” added the secretary-general of the National Indian Muslim Alliance Party (Iman), an ally of the Gerakan Tanah Air coalition.
Although he is a first-timer, the education consultant, who held a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree, was no stranger to election campaigns.
"I have helped others before but it is different from being a contestant myself.
"Now, my responsibility is bigger, more pressuring and I have to be hands on on many things," he pointed out.
Amir said three days into the campaign period, initial response from the voters was positive and that he is confident the support for him would grow as he met more people.
He is caught in a six-cornered fight for the parliamentary seat here with incumbent Chang Lih Kang (Pakatan Harapan-PKR), Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon (Barisan Nasional-MCA), Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi who represents Bersatu, independents Mohd Nor Izzat Mohd Johari and Datuk Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi.
