PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 5,298 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Jan 31), bringing the cumulative total to 214,959.
In the same 24-hour period, there were 14 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 760.
In a tweet, the Health Ministry said that Johor and Selangor recorded the most cases, with both states exceeding 1,000 cases.
Another 4,522 patients were discharged from medical facilities, which means 166,049 have recovered from the disease nationwide.
In total, there are 48,150 active cases nationwide.
From this number, 313 are in intensive care units, with 127 requiring ventilation support.
