PUTRAJAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has slammed those in the party who were still soliciting for contracts and positions from those in power.
Many delegates had brought up the issue of certain members wanting contracts and positions being awarded to them, he said.
He urged members to remember the struggle and sacrifices they had to make when Bersatu first started.
“Reflect back on how we were when we first started Bersatu. We had no positions, no property, no contracts,” he said in his winding up speech at the party annual general meeting on Sunday (Dec 30).
One particular delegate, he added, had named in the debates a government official who allegedly gives out contracts.
“That could be a case for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
Where is our dignity?” he said.
He added that the position of the youth in Bersatu must be protected, and that the youth leaders must be appointed based on merit and not on politics.
